Itineraries: 16 Days Uganda Tour


After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our travel guides; they will transfer you to your hotel of your choice in Kampala in your desired accommodation according to your budget. If it is still early; you can have a tour at the Uganda wildlife education centre. And depending on the time of arrival, you may exchange your money into Ugandan Shillings to be used in your safari, spend your night at;

Day 2: Transfer to the Murchision

Travel to Murchision Falls National Park, Have breakfast and embark on the oweful journey to the most thought after place for tourism which is The Murchision Falls National Park in Northern Uganda. Check in your accommodation in the evening.

Day 3: Game drive around Murchision

After taking your good breakfast get ready for the big game drive in the park, you will be transferred to the northern part of Murchison falls National Park for a game drive. Your guide will help you with all the necessary explanations you may need about the different animals you may meet like the Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. At midmorning you will go back to the lodge for your breakfast and then later in the afternoon, you will go for launch cruise to the bottom of the falls of the Murchison falls and here you will have the opportunity to see a lot of hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks and this makes the place good for a birding safari. Overnight will back at your lodge or you can stay in the North Eastern part of the park as you face Kidepo for the following day.

Day 4: Murchision birding

After your breakfast you will have the opportunity to be guided deep into the forest where you will see various forest birds like the chocolates-backed Kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill, the chocolates-backed Kingfisher as well as the Puvel’s illadopsis and these are hardly found anywhere else in East Africa. After lunch, you will visit the top of the fall fro the best view of the falls and the Nile.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo

Embark on this rather tiresome but worthwhile journey from Murchision to Kidepo Valley National Park and check in your accommodation in the evening. Have a thorough rest to be ready for the next day’s game drive.

Day 6: Spectacular Apoka game drive

Get your breakfast very early in the morning and embark on the game drive in the spectacular savannah plains of Kidepo. Kidepo is popular for its plains that harbour big wild life like elephants and buffaloes among others. These are popular around in the Apoka area. Spend your night at Apoka lodge.

Day 7: Drive to Jinja

After your breakfast, embark on this long journey from Kidepo to Jinja. You’ll drive the Moroto – Mbale, make a stopover at Sipi falls where you’ll get your lunch on the slopes of Mount Elgon. From there, continue to Jinja and check into your accommodation;

Day 8: Around the source of the Nile

After your breakfast, visit the source of the Nile in the morning, you will go for a tour around the source of the Nile, take photos of the beautiful river Nile and then continue to Bujagali falls. From Bujagali falls, you can proceed to Kampala to prepare for next day’s journey to western Uganda.

Day 9: Transfer to L. Mburo

After checking in your accommodation, visit the salt lick where you will find many wild animals that converge there to lick the salt. You can later have a canoe ride on L.Mburo in the evening. Have your Dinner and overnight at;

Day 10: Mburo Game drive

After Breakfast, go and enjoy the game park drives as well as birding because L. Mburo will offer you the best in game driving and birding because of its where you find almost the highest number of zebra, impala, eland and buffaloes. There are also so many birds which makes a good spot for the birders as well. This also is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike and the legendary Shoe bill. We will check in at the camp and relax for a little while before going for a boat ride on the lake.

Day 11: Transfer to Bwindi

Get your breakfast very early, on your way driving to Bwindi; make a stopover at Igongo cultural centre before reaching Mbarara town- here you will have a glance at the sculptures and artifacts which represent the rich Ankole culture in the centre’s Museum. Continue driving to Kabale and check in your lodge/camp in Bwindi;

After your early breakfast, transfer to Bwindi; make a brief stopover at Igongo cultural centre to have a glance at the different culture art facts of the rich Ankole culture in the Museaum. You will check in your lodge late evening since it’s a bit long journey

Day 12: The much anticipated Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

You will have to wake up early for breakfast before you go for gorilla tracking. Your guide will take you to the ranger station at 08.00 am and also get guides to take you through the forest as you track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. You sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback and this will be for just 1 hour. It is amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left in the world! If you have the afternoon free, you will take a guided village walk to see how the Ugandans live. Dinner and Overnight will be back at your lodge.

Day 13: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Get your breakfast early morning and set off for Queen Elizabeth NP via the famous Ishasha sector popular for their amazing residents - climbing lions and enjoy the game drive Budget: Continue driving to check in your accommodation at;

Day 14: Game Drive in the Queen

Enjoy the game drive around the Mweya peninsula and Kazinga channel where you will meet most of the big mammals like Elephants and Buffaloes. Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife, bio diversity ranging from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. There are 100 species of wild animals like the Hippos, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog.

There are over 606 species of birds found here including the martial eagle, Verreaux’s eagle owl, black-rumped buttonquail and African skimmer among others. The primates include Chimps, Blue Magabeys, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. You lunch will be at your lodge and have an evening game drive so as to have an opportunity to see the spot Elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and others. Later in the afternoon, go for boat cruising on Kazinga channel.

Day 15: Chimpanzee Trekking

After your breakfast, we will leave for the 08.00am chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. which also borders with Maramagambo forest. Expect to see various primates most especially Chimpanzee, Black and white Colobus monkeys primates like the rd colobus monkeys, blue Mangebeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others. This gorge is a home of very many bird species. You can also come across some elephants around the gorge. Spend your night at Jacana or Kingfisher lodges.

Day 16: Drive to Kampala

Drive back to Kampala for your flight back. If your flight is scheduled late in the night, you can move around Kampala and later have a simple back- home cocktail at;
